To coincide with the launch of my new portfolio website, I decided to launch a timely, brand refresh for my personal identity. I developed my previous identity further by re-drawing my smiley icon, introducing a word mark, adopting a new typeface and implementing a strict set of layout rules.
I was met with many financial hurdles when attempting to print the business cards and additional elements, as holographic foiling and embossing seemed to be very pricey. To combat that, I sourced multiple sheets of holographic mirri, printed, cut and personally embossed each element by hand (It made the whole process way more satisfying than letting someone else do all the craft and graft). Finally, I avoided the traditional lorum ipsum spiel, instead filling the printed extras with something more realistic and in-line with the struggles that freelance designers sometimes go through.
